Business Analyst

The company is now expanding in the coming months and years to locations in Europe including London and Frankfurt and Playa del Carmen Mexico. This will allow us to provide on-site expert support from a team of specialists. 

Purpose

  • Responsibilities include all business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle. At times, this may also include supporting project management activities.

  • Ensure project functional design is in line with business requirements, solution design recommendation and design methodology standards.

Your main responsibilities

  • Delivery of the functional design for IT software solutions in line with the business requirements.

  • Ensure that the business need is sufficiently understood and documented to facilitate the successful delivery of business applications.

  • Liaison with key subject matter experts from within the business, operations and IT.

  • Assisting the business with the production of requirements specification.

  • Understand, demonstrate and ensure requirements, specifications, etc. complies with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved.

  • Liaise with senior IT management, project sponsors and business units to align business requirements and priorities with project activities and objectives.

  • Assessing, comparing and challenging alternatives and recommending clear choice solutions.

  • Produce clear and concise documentation of all analysis, requirements, designs, recommendations, functional variations, etc.

  • Work closely with IT development teams to ensure delivery is on time and to specification.

  • Participate in all stages of the project life cycle, as a business analyst and as project team member when required. This may include requirements gathering, producing project documentation, development, implementation and support.

  • Be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with your role and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

Your qualifications

  • Must be educated to degree level or equivalent.

Competencies & Experience

Required

  • Relevant IT project experience / excellent experience in a business analysis capacity in a medium to large sized Financial Services organization

  • Knowledge and experience of the full software development lifecycle

  • Business Analysis

  • Experience of working in remote and virtual teams

  • Strong communication and coaching skills

  • Financial Industry (Private Banking experience an asset)

  • Business analysis techniques for modeling and understanding the business and its operation

  • Experience with the tools and techniques used to document and understand the structure, relationships and use of information within an organization

  • Information gathering methods, tools and techniques appropriate to the information required and the sources available

  • Ability to capture business process specification and resulting solutions from available technologies

  • Systematic, disciplined and analytical problem solving techniques

  • Knowledge of the functional structure of the business; strategy, operation, purpose, objectives, priorities and critical success factors

  • Experience of Quality Assurance within a project team

  • Methods and techniques for delivering effective presentations

  • Fluent in German & English

Desirable

  • Project Management (PMP, Six Sigma, XScale or Prince2 accreditation an asset)

  • Software Development

  • Software Test Management

Working location requirements

Willingness to work remotely at clients' premises on short and/or long-term projects in Switzerland and abroad (i.e. up to 18 months).
